Happy Chinese New Year!
The Year of the Rat begins in the United States on February 6th and all the world will change with this new cycle.
In preparation for the New Year, take down all annual feng shui treatments by February 4th and place them on the earth to ground and revitalize. Clean and replace all permanent feng shui treatments and thoroughly clean your home by February 4th. Place a bowl of six oranges or tangerines by your front door and, as a New Year celebration on February 6th, place a feast on your dining table. A wonderful year of prosperity will be in your future.

I have high hopes for this year of 2008 and many things I predicted have already begun to manifest. I am teaching a special meditation class on love in Culver City on Monday, February 11th ~ just a few days before Valentines Day. We have a new newsletter service. Many people did not receive newsletters for most of last year ~ and they did not know they weren’t receiving them. Others received enough for everyone. All newsletters are archived on royanthonyshabla.com for your convenience. We apologize for the trouble the old newsletter service caused. Hopefully, all problems are corrected with this new one.

I now realize that most people who receive this newsletter do not read it ~ or do not read it all the way through. The same goes for my blog (I’m sorry, it has been too hectic for me to update “What Has Reality Ever Done For Me”). We have become a society of ungrounded people and blame the hysteria on ADD and ADHD instead of pausing to take a few deep breaths and put some effort into concentrating. Meditation is helpful for that craziness!

The Chinese Year of the Rat is a time to try something new. It is a time of pioneers and forward-thinkers. Just be careful of what you say and whom you say it to. And remember, happiness is a thing to be shared!
February 3rd marks an important astrological holiday in most cultures. It is the halfway point between the Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox and a time for preparing the garden for Spring. Groundhog Day and Candelaria (the last of the Christian Christmas celebrations) are manifestation of the Pagan Holy Day, Imbolc which portends the weather for the coming season.
Take this day to spend time in your garden (weather permitting) and place offerings for the devas to come and bless your home for Spring. Just be careful to not waste water ~ this is a year of potential water problems. Disrespect can cause flooding or other water disasters. Respect can make your garden and your life blossom.
